Medicine / Pediatrics

Welcome to the University of Missouri – Kansas City Internal Medicine – Pediatrics Residency! We have a strong academic program that boasts of its participants, graduates and their accomplishments. Located in the heart of the Midwest, our residency offers a quality training experience in an affordable and livable city. Our residency program is comprised of three individual hospitals that come together to provide a diverse and excellent education.

I encourage you to explore the training programs and clinical affiliate institutions of our categorical Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residencies. You’ll be amazed at the individual strengths of our categorical programs – including high quality patient care, outstanding teaching and innovative science. Each provide tertiary referral centers with complex, high-acuity care balanced with safety-net hospitals and clinics to serve the primary care and hospital needs of all patients in our region. Regardless of the department, the faculty are engaged and enthusiastic teachers that relish the opportunity to develop our trainees.

Our programs provide the environment and teaching services needed for a successful training experience, but our personnel make the program excellent. Our residents are hard-working, intelligent and dependable; but they are also feisty, opinionated and unrelenting. The combined faculty members are supportive, dedicated and passionate. This combination results in a dynamic, resident-centered program that consistently meets the needs and desires of our individual residents. Our residency is truly a family where we support, mentor and nurture each other to be the best version of themselves.

Kansas City is a great place to live – whether you are raising a family or enjoying the single life. Kansas City provides a wide spectrum of activities from the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and Sporting KC to the Lyric Opera, Starlight Theatre and some of the best jazz you will ever hear. Our city is proud of its outdoor activities and provides walking, biking and nature trails throughout the metropolitan area. And for those with voracious appetites, the best barbeque in the world is available here (my own opinion).

Explore our information and then come visit us! We know that all we have to offer will pleasantly surprise you.
