Preliminary Year
About the Program

Residents interested in pursuing a career in anesthesiology, dermatology, radiology, ophthalmology, physical medicine, neurology, radiation oncology or emergency medicine require solid fundamental training in internal medicine. The emphasis of training is developing proficiency in treating a wide spectrum of common medical problems in the inpatient setting. The preliminary medicine program is fully integrated with the categorical medicine program, with a year-one curriculum that is nearly identical.
