Welcome to the Department of Radiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC)! Our department includes more than 50 faculty members that together perform more than 500,000 exams annually. Every facet of imaging is performed at the four affiliated institutions that comprise our department, including Children’s Mercy Hospital, the largest pediatric facility in the Midwest; Truman Medical Center, Missouri’s largest level 1 trauma center; the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Saint Luke’s Hospital, a major tertiary referral center with some of the nation’s largest cardiac and neuroimaging volumes, as well as transplant services and a cancer institute. The Department of Radiology at UMKC offers outstanding patient care through diagnostic and interventional services, while maintaining a robust academic environment through research and medical education.

Walker to chair case-based review course for national radiology conference

The American Roentgen Ray Society has honored Chris Walker, M.D., assistant professor of radiology. He will serve as the thoracic imaging section chair for the organization’s case-based review course at next spring’s 2016 national meeting in Los Angeles.
