Instructions for Admission to the B.A./M.D. Program
All application materials must be submitted or postmarked by November 1, 2011.
An application will NOT be reviewed for admission until all supporting documents have been received. When all application materials have been received, the Council on Selection in the School of Medicine will review all complete applications. Applications and/or application materials received or postmarked after November 1 will be reviewed on a space-available basis. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Students applying for admission to the UMKC School of Medicine B.A./M.D. program must complete the following steps:
STEP 1:Complete the UMKC General Application for Admission online. When selecting a major, select “MED-UNDEC Medicine MD-Six Year Program."
In order to complete the general application, your computer must support the following:
FIREFOX 3.5 and 3.6 (Both windows and MAC)

9.0 (Vista and Windows 7 only)(XP NOT SUPPORTED)
8.0 (pretty much all version of Windows)

STEP 2: Complete a UMKC School of Medicine online Supplemental Application Form ** (including the Technical Standards section).
Please note: The online supplemental application will be a timed session. Although you should have sufficient time to complete the application, it is recommended that you download the PDF form, prepare your information, and then complete the online supplemental application.
STEP 3: Download the UMKC School of Medicine Personal Statement, High School Activity, and Health Experience PDF.
Please note: Rename the personal statement, high school activity sheet, and health experience pdf using the following convention:
Last name, first three letters of your first name, and birthdate (For example: Jane Johnson May 20, 1994 = JohnsonJan05201994.pdf)

STEP 4: Download the UMKC School of Medicine official Reference Form PDF. You must have at least three references, but no more than six. References are considered confidential material at the UMKC School of Medicine. Please fill out the top of the form, then print it out or email it to the person writing your reference. These should be submitted directly to the School of Medicine by teachers of academic subjects, counselors, school administrators, or others who can speak to your academic ability and personal character. Recommenders must submit the official School of Medicine reference form. Letters of recommendation will not be accepted in place of the official form.

- Official high school transcripts
- Official ACT or SAT scores (UMKC's ACT code is 2380. UMKC's SAT code is 6872)
- Missouri applicants must present an ACT score.
- Regional and out-of-state applicants may present an SAT score. UMKC does not consider SAT subject exams
- If you are a permanent resident of the United States, a copy of the permanent resident card must be submitted by November 1, 2011.
November 1, 2011 is the final deadline to submit or postmark all application materials, including the general application to UMKC, the UMKC School of Medicine supplemental application, personal statement, short answer questions, high school activity sheet, health experience sheet, reference forms, official transcripts, and official test scores. If any of these materials are submitted or postmarked after the November 1 deadline, the application is considered late and will be reviewed on a space-available basis. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
