The University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Medicine, Continuing Medical Education Program (CME) is instrumental in assisting physicians maintain and gain improved competence, performance, and/or patient outcomes. The CME initiatives are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education as defined by the American Medical Association.
The CME Program resides as a functional unit within the School of Medicine. A Council on Continuing Medical Education (CCME), comprised of campus and community members both voting and non-voting, exist to sanction the provision of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Additionally, the CCME advises the Dean, School of Medicine, on matters pertaining to CME.
CME Program office staff functions as a liaison between the joint sponsors and the CCME by providing administrative assistance.
